Test Kit Problem

just checking, can a test kit become contaminated and render useless? i'm refering to Nitrate testkit. coz even after 30-40 percent water change, it reads 20ppm. Asking coz once i forgot to close the cap back for a good 1 whole day.

Hi, maybe you want to try to take the readings for tapwater or distilled drinking water for comparison. Be careful not to cap the wrong cap to the wrong bottle when using test kits with 2 reagents. I always make sure I cap the bottle before opening the next bottle of reagents.

hah! why didnt i think of that. oh yeah a few occassion i've capped the 2 reagents wrongly i guess. thanks for the thoughts.
