Am considering switching to ATI sunpower for my 3ft. Any bro is using Ati sunpower, can review on it ? Or any t5 fixture to recommend? Ati price is quite ex. Tks

Hmmm I think ATI lightset is over drive ballast, while most of the other brand is normal ballast, including de retrofit lightset. Depending on the height of your tank, mine is 1.5tt height, de retrofit is good enough.

So far.. i have change from Radion LED to SunPower...

although i agree with u the running cost of T5 is more... ATI still gives the best in terms of colorations...

im on 2ft height and i place my Prata (scolymia) on the bottom which still gets bleach.. i have to HIDE my prata.. haha..

SPS definately color up better... this is a sure thing as T5 blue bulb has a PROVEN track records...

go house visiting of reefers tank more and u see alot are using the blue bulbs or as supplement for their lighting...

Just my 2cents worth...

changing to SUNPOWER proves a good investment cos i no need to worry about par and lighting anymore..

down side -> i change my bulb every 8 mths.. due to overdrive... and clean the plastic cover every mth to reek of salt spray.

For SPS... my Personal preference will be:

1-> Blue

2-> Purple

3-> Blue

4-> White

but of cos... i find 4 tubes is not enough bro...

minimum of 6 tubes will be good..

bros, will likely switch to ATI. My last question on ATI is on the ceiling mounting. Wii there be any issue attaching the cable retainers to our concrete ceiling? do i require additional tools or accessories beside a driller?

Personally, I feel DE Lightings retrofit is sufficient. You might wanna consider the following combination:

ATI Blue Plus

ATI Coral Plus

ATI Blue Plus (or ATI Coral Plus, depending on how much blue you like)

ATI Blue Plus

Front Glass

Is delightings good for Sps? Can i mount delightings fixture directly on the tank than hanging it?

Most of your questions can be answered if you browse through the tanks threads more often... I think there are countless success stories for those using T5s for SPSs.

Unfortunately, they do not come with stands, so most people would either hang it, make a light stand or a hood, or just simply place it on top of the tank if you have top bracing.
