Return pump

Hi guys. I'm using a 2800l h20 pump. Is not enough for my 322? Read somewhere its not enough. Any ideas?

In general, we aim for higher turnover rate for our tank. Min is 5 times per hour. of cos higher will be ideal. however too high is not good as well, your skimmer might not be able to clean the water before it get back into the display tank. So what we do is to match the equipments flow rate. the rest will be taken care by wavemaker.

So my 322 with about 400l plus sump. 2800per hour is already enough right?

I will say yours is a little on the low side. 2800 havent include head loss.

maybe i kiasu, i have roughly the same size as yours. my return pump was 6000lph, now upgrade to 10,000lph. i think just nice

I'm using D&D 5000 liters/hr pump.. My tank is same size as yours.. Seems fine..

I have read somewhere in this forum long time ago that somebody recommended the flowrate of the return pump to be 10 times your tank volume. Example: If your tank volume is 380L, the return pump should be rated at 3800L/hr or around there.

Hmm so I could actually stick with my current one. And next time if change tank. I will change a super big one lol

Yours is actually undersized. I believe after headloss, u are getting less than 2000l/hr.

joey, for your tank I would get 2 x eheim 1262's

One hole then get an ehiem 1264.
