Top up evaporated water with unfiltered tap water. Diatoms need silica

Diatoms will slowly appear once the silica reach a threshold. Wait patiently unless you are looking for a specific strain to culture pods

It is a cycle that you must culture....

1. Use a dead food...fish or fish food to start the cycle.

2. Best if you can dose bacteria.

3. WAIT patiently for the cycle to bloom Ammonia, subsequently NO2 bloom and NO3....

4. When these process happen...Diatoms will come...but not always if your water does not have silicate
