Too much bubbles

Currently my diy 1ft cube IOS tank is running on a 600l/hr pump but the design just cause my pump to suck in too much water too fast causing many air bubbles to be "suspended" in the tank when it exit from the outlet. I have tried to use a smaller 300/l pump but still giving the same result but just less flow.

My question is there any harm to LSP, soft coral & lifestock(goby, smaller shrimps & clownfish) I am getting? Currently the tank only have 1 banded shrimp, snails & lots of zoa but they seem to be doing well so far.

Hmm..salt spray.600 l/h pump is pretty small. Can u try install a small valve at the pump return or get more water to flow into the ios chsmber? Sent from my Android using Tapatalk2

You can try to see if you can attach a sponge to it.

If your pump is not fully submerged in water, it will be sucking air and pumping out bubbles. The lifespan of your pump will also be affected.

If your pump is fully submerged in water, and you still get bubbles being pumped out. Then maybe there is a crack somewhere on the pipeline or joints are not sealed properly.

The pump was fully submerge in water but once it gets on only takes a few seconds for it to drain most of the water in the compartment. Even after I wait for the water level to stabilize before turning it on it will just pump out all of the water. I guess my only solution is to remake a new tank then.

Your pump just 600L/hr.. any blockage at the inlet side?

Put pump at bottom of tank. Keep water from overflow farthest from return pump. Pump foam between pump and overflow.
