Anyone using this skimmer? It is extremely noisy. Is this normal? By the way is skimz skimmer noise level ok?

Are your skimmers in a cabinet or exposed stand?

in the sump which sit inside the cabinet. it is extremely noisy.. i suspect the pump is faulty. could this be the issue?

most probably faulty, or the impeller is unbalanced causing it to vibrate. either way, clean the pump in vinegar & try again. if still noisy, then probably need to change pump...

I used to have a BM NAC7.

Nac9 uses Atman PH4000.

This is a relatively big pump. More noise are generated than smaller pump.

Try to secure the base to reduce vibration.

If your skimmer foaming is good, the pump is working and not faulty.

but it could be the impeller due to wear and tear. Pretty normal for BM stuff.

google for BM NAC noise problem.

Im using a nac 3.5, no noise issue....

bubble magus C9 it's works and silent.
or
Continue valves for air intake.
or
Change the pump PH4000 to SP4000
