No prob! Just wondering... What kind of mantis u getting? Smasher or slasher? Size? I presume u are getting a peacock, which is a smasher. Ok, smashers can shatter glass if its big enough. So u might wanna lay a piece of acrylic or some cushion like a rubber mat at the bottom of ur tank before u put in ur substrate. As mantis are burrowers, ur substrate needs to be deep. However, we are using a relatively small tank so i doesnt make sense to have a sand bed filling up half the tank! Whats gonna happen is... In the wild mantis will burrow deep, and if they hit rocks, they will try to smash thru it... So its the bottom tank that we have to worry about. In my case, im keeping a three inch peacock, with a sandbed about 4 inches deep. Even then... I can hear my mantis trying to smash thru the tank bottom very frequently. But its a small mantis and i dun think he will be able to do any damge, i hope... Sorry bout the long story, just to let u know.. Have fun!
