This vacuum is good coz its cycle the water within the tank while picking up those dirt within the tank. But do bear in mind the max level of the device. Just to share with fellow friende here as I used it found it's good for me.

Anchornan for my case coz my tank is 2.5 feet high. So those debris cant be remove with my over flow system. Therefore they consokidate at a corner of the tank. I place it near the sand bed and all been sucked up slowly wirhout losing water. These prevent change in water parameter. I dont stir up the sand bed.

Admiraltian, the picture shown above are the fully extended version. They come with 2 shorter pipe for you to play about. I try using the shortest pipe to connect. Total length that can to submerge in tank is 35cm.

Q1: Is it able to suck up detritus at the bottom of your 2.5ft tank?

Q2: What is the max level?

Q3: Does it mean that the top portion of the Vacuum cannot be submerge?

I am keen as I find it difficult to siphon from my 2.5ft overflow box and also from my sump. Please PM me price and place too.

Can't hit 2.5feet bottom. With the max extension can hit about 2 feet. Top part cant submerge in water. There is a marking on the device. For 2.5 feet tank.. guess gemsurf have a better equipment to hit 2.5 feet tank. What I meant good was I will stir up those detritus during changing water.. so my tank water level no longer 2.5 feet. Then I will hang this device and let it continue vacuum for little while. Then will repeat the process of stir up the detritus until mostly clear then only I top up the water.

I hv been using this for almost 10yrs and it is still working. I mainly using it for suck up detritus and Un-eaten food in the QT. My only complain is the filter sock hole is too big for tiny detritus.
