Replacement of aging tank

Hi gurus,

My tank is quite old (not sure exactly how old as it was 2nd hand) and I can see the silicon seals degrading from the edges.

The cabinet is still in a pretty decent condition, except for rusty door hinges that need replacing.

Is it advisable for me to:

1. Get someone to make repair the old tank

2. Get someone to make a new tank with same specs as replacement

3. Get another 2nd hand tank set?

I have a very tight budget for my hobby so a brand new tank set is out of the question for me.

Any recommendations for tank makers for option 1 and 2?

It depends how big is your tank. It would be easy to repair because I assume you have livestock inside. Keep a look out at the pasar malam section, you can get great deal from reefer decomming or upgrade.

I do have the option of emptying out the livestock temporarily.

If the glass is still good (no scratches) and you are happy with it, reseal. I had Vincent from Aquarium Artist build my tank and was pleased with his service and he's just generally a nice guy to work with.
