i dun get wat is how many watt etc... can tell mi more details?

Watt is how much energy the light uses, usually the more the brighter. This is a generalized explanation only.

SeaLife at balestier road sells a Zoo Med actinic bulb for about $30. It is true actinic and very nice. But there may be other cheaper brands.

thanks, but i went there once, they are selling at 40bucks, the 50/50 colour sort, blue mixed with white.. is it better?

i wanted my tiny little 2feet tank to be bright, so that my corals and my fishes to be more lively. Is there a maxium power watt for only a merely 2 feet bulb? 150w isit too much? or little?

will there be colour watt differences? like, normal, white light doesnt have that much of power etc.. then blue, ultra violet light is better sort???

thanks!

This pic is using 400w Iwasaki 50000k Aqua

do the shop sell 2 feet, with 400w? isit too strong for a 2 feet to handle the amount of light out:?

Soup, is that your tank?

If it is, it looks damn good, and I don't think you need to change anything (or ask for advice on lighting, LOL). That green acro looks great.

I didn't know Iwasaki's made 50Ks. The light coloration looks closer to 10K.

About 400 Watts for a 2 feet tank, lots of people in the U.S. use that kind of power. They believe that acros can never have too much light. You just have to make sure your chiller is running properly at all times.

If you interested in fitting high PAR over your small tanks, you can either consider MHs (downside... high wattage/need chiller)... you can go with the current FL/PL lights... or you can wait for the next big thing to hit the marine aquarium hobby... T5 lights!

Aquarists in Germany and UK have begun replacing MHs with T5 lights.

Basically, T5 are like VHO (very high output) FL tubes, except it's much much thinner and much much more powerful. It runs on e-ballasts though. The newer T5-2 (i think 2nd generation) is what people are testing now... for example... i have seen a pix where a German aquarist removed 2 out of 4 x 250watts MH from one end of his tank and put 6 x 54watts T5 tubes.... and that corner looks brighter and whiter than the MHs!!! Unbelievable! And the SPS grows are growing and have fabulous colours!

T5 bulbs for the marine hobby are improving... with blue and actinics on the way... I'll keep you guys informed as my HK friend is giving me more info.

that is not my tank.. hee hee.. i wish i had!!!!!

anyway, today i bought a new light system alrady... bought at 37 bucks at pasir ris farmway. It's a PL lighting bulb, there's 2 colours connecting , one blue, one pink, think its for Luohan lighting. Anyway, i think i am going to change the bulb soon. I asked around, i think it will cost xtra 23dollars for a PL blub for 2feet that is blue/white sort..

Is it better? because presently, my tank is like more light blue colour, i am looking for colouration. I dunno what is a nice colour also hee
