Do you remove or keep Acro Crabs that hitch-hike with the SPS?

These crab are good for the coral, acro crab helps to remove algae on the sps which is food to them.

They are good crab. But if you don't want them let me know.

I have one that looked like this, can't really tell if its hairy or not. Sorry for the poor photo, pic kinda blur. Is it ok to leave it alone? Never really see it eats the acropora its attached to.

It is dark in color with some orangy spots and patches.

so where does these hairy crabs come from?!

They are hitchhikers in the sps that u buy from lfs.

ya sometimes those hairy crabs will eat up acro crabs and live in the acro. i ususally take the entire acro out and use toothpick to flick them out HAHA

They usually come from the live rocks. When I started my tank some time back, I always catch some hairy crabs at night. They only come out at night. Very frustration sometimes I even took out the rocks for dipping.

Acro crab very easy to recognise as it is a bit orange colour. Hairy crab is brown colour with a bit of short hair. Urs looks like a hairy crab to me.
