Power surge question

IMO, I think it's wrong. the hole should be drilled above the outlet.

twisting the outlet from a vertical 'L' to a horizontal 'L' can also help raise the height easily.

this is what i meant by horizontal, though alittle incline downwards.

it is a 3 inch of difference compared to having it vertically.

Just thinking out loud.....

The main cause of TS overflow problem when power was cut, was the sump's capacity iis not big enough to contain the water in the downflow column.

Unless your sump is too small, what I would do is to off the power switch and remove water from the sump till it can hold the maximum amount under this power-off condition. The power back the system and when the return pump kicks in, the water level in sump will drop as water is pumped up to main tank and overflow back to sump via return pipe. Just make sure this 'normal working condition' water level in sump is above your pump/skimmer's working level.

If by doing above and water level cannot be sufficient to cover return pump/skimmer under normal operating condition, then you need to get a bigger sump.

May be confusing in my explanation, but hope can be understood.

Just sharing my thoughts.
