How to use the right replica rock?

This is how you determine your replica rock.

Water flow test for branching type

1. Prepare 1 pail of water.

2. Submerge your replica rock into water.

3. Once it filled up with water, pull out imediately.

4. A good well ventilated flow of replica rock will give 5 to 6 seconds to drain its water.

5. If this test fails means it cannot be used, you will need to drill or punch more holes into the replica rock until this test pass. The more holes created the better it is. (Note)

The best way is to fill it with water and seal it ... imo

yes.. provided 100% no leaking. Better to u fill it up with cement and paint with expoxy. But to think that you will be wasting the interior of the replica rock. Why not make more holes and bacteria can grow within the replica rock inside.

If using replica rock, you will need more live rocks in sump and thats a must.

Fill it up with bio rings and small live rocks.

Live rocks are there to provide good stablility on the water.
