Mantis Shrimp in tank

Guys,

I found a mantis shrimp (size about 2"), I need advises as to keep the bugger in my FOWLR tank or try my very best to catch the bugger (if I can!)

I believe it had been added to my tank with the LR without me knowing.

Good luck with the catch. I also found one in my tank a few months back and the only way to remove it, which I did, was to remove all the rocks and then catch it when it came out of hiding in the rocks. Now it is in my sump and the mantis shrimp and I are happier with this arrangement. I am feeding it with small pieces of dead prawns.

Beside remove for the Rock , its is possible to use the trap box ?

Guess will be tough. Will be quite messy if you will to remove all the Liverocks.

May I know why we cant keep this mantis shrimp with fishes ?

Mantis shrimp hunt fishes for food. That is the reason why we cannot keep them with fishes. Compatibility issue. Best to keep it alone in another thick plastic tank.

yes, mantis shrimp are carnivorous, best to keep in a species tank.
