does it mean as long as there are black edged borders around its white bars, its a true percula?? how abt thin black borders?..

Nothing to do with borders lah. As long as the stripes on body is lined by black lines, its a true;

else

false.

{Get it?} :P

Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth?

some false clown fish have no black strips at all, and some have black strips around their white patch on the body, but this doesnt mean tat they are the true ones. It depends on the country they came from, the seas, some can be very bright orange( i find this more appealing) and some dull orange.

true perculas, have black strips ard the white bar, as well as covering their body. like the pic i attached. Better and expensive breed will have more % of blackness on it's body.

Correct me if i'm wrong. :peace:

Everything's sold. Back in 2yrs time.

well.. thin black lines are the normal clowns... most of the true percula will have a bigger black lines or some even cover the whole body with the black patch... second u can also see that the white area in the centre of the fish more define and sharper compare to the false percula.. and another one is the price.. alto not very accurate... most of the normal clowns sell in LFS are around the range of $1 to $3 and the true perula... the price range is around... $12 to $18 depending on the black patch as well as the side... a pair up of a true percula will range from $45 to $65.

why the vast difference? I mean there are some very nice false percula. Whats the difference besides their physical traits? Both kinds are semi-aggressive too right? ..

There is a difference between ocellaris clowns and percula clowns by the number of dorsal spines they possess. I forgot the exact number but I think perculas have 1 more dorsal spine compared to an occellaris

Always something more important than fish.

notice there is a bit of cotton stuff on the body but drop off after a while... could be due to rubbing on the octopus coral which "house" them? :rolleyes:

I notice Clarke Clowns are kinda expensive, next to true pecula. Any idea why this is so? My assumption is that it is hard to come by, but I could be wrong. I have one inmy tank and its such a beautiful creature. Best part is, it gets along fine with my ordinary clown. In fact, they both share my Jewel
