SRC Member oceanviper Posted January 23, 2014 Author SRC Member Share Posted January 23, 2014 Is been kind of busy with familiy and works commitment. Only lately has the push to get the pending work done so that can allocate space for new project in mind. Here are some of the photos which now pending for my sump tank to ready for the final piping, drop-in coil connection. SRC Member oceanviper Posted January 27, 2014 Author SRC Member Share Posted January 27, 2014 Part one for the tank is almost complete with the remaining of the check valve which i'm about to get it after consideration in the reverse flow. Two solution possible. a. Cheap --> drill a hole at the outlet which what normally most reefers do. b. Expensive --> use check valve. Finally decided to go for the expensive approach, due to the outlet is in the front of the tank. Will a braceless tank, expected to have some microbubles that my FTO will complain. The wiring for my tank. The sump tank with my heat exchanger. My return pump plus the bubble magus holder + filter socks from DE Lighting. SRC Member Clement Chen Posted January 27, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted January 27, 2014 I have heard that check valves often fail and it is safer to drill a hole as well Quote Clem's Clam Corner (Decommed) 60cm x 40cm x 30cm Tank Nano tank reboot v2.0 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
SRC Member oceanviper Posted January 27, 2014 Author SRC Member Share Posted January 27, 2014 You need to maintain the check valve else it will, of course. 1 Quote Tank : 3 x 2 x 1.8 ( setup end Feb 2014 ) --> 4 x 2 x 1.8 ( setup early Nov 2016 ) Skimmer : Bubble Magus NAC6 --> Bubble Magus Curve 7 Return pump : Jebao 10000l/h ( down in 17th December 2014 ) --> Jebao DC-12000 ( 19th December 2014 ) Compressor drop-in coil Wavemaker : Tunze 6105 x 1 Lights : Modular based DIY LED light x 4 Chaeto in the sump Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

SRC Member kenyee Posted January 28, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted January 28, 2014 Looking good bro..nice diy skill.. Just some pointers from my perspective, the piping are very neat but the bend into the small box up area look like its quite hard to work on if problem arise..one thing that can't change is ur sump is not below all the piping joints, I say that its because if there's linkage, water will go elsewhere causing flood n pump run dry.. Is there any top up tank for ur setup?Coz I dun see any space allocated for it..maybe its elsewhere n/or u haven't write about it yet (Paiseh then..heez) Anyway, hope to see more updates n pics coming.. Cheers.. Quote @ 291213 Updated video: Kenyee FOWLR http://m.youtube.com/my_videos Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
SRC Member oceanviper Posted January 28, 2014 Author SRC Member Share Posted January 28, 2014 HI Bro KenYee. Those bend pipes and joints which not shown in the pictures actually can be accessible from another compartment which didnt show in the pictures. Furthermore those joints are fully glue which is not mean for any changes. Removing the top part will allow it to be transfer when needed. Thanks for your suggestion. I'm not using any top up tank as i'm doing water change weekly. For those who knows me, will see me often weekly at pasir ris lfs as now DI units not DIY yet. SRC Member oceanviper Posted February 12, 2014 Author SRC Member Share Posted February 12, 2014 Finally managed to get the drop-in coil setup without further gas leak. Root cause of the leaking was due to lousy skills on tube flaring which didnt do visual check prior in joining it. Lesson learned and improve on the minor skills checks... SRC Member oceanviper Posted February 14, 2014 Author SRC Member Share Posted February 14, 2014 ! Hi James bro. Thanks. Seeing the stuff completed with obstacles does make it worth spending effort on it. Of course downside is when things turn too bad untill we have to redo, that is the point everyone would wonder why started it at the 1st place.
