Hi bro..

sad news... Due to my FIL passing away, i was not at home for a couple of days. Blueface cloudy eyes and my regal too, keep going against the current of the wavemaker. Made a trip down to fish channel for advise. Rush to Pet mart to buy Pazi but lost the blue face the next day.

1) lesson learnt - days ago, i bought a striped clown tang and it looks perfectly normal and greedy for the first few days. But kena white spots and left. I believe this affect my blueface but funny, i did not spot my blueface with ick or whitespots. I think kena flukes.

Now my regal is much healthier and one thing, my juv emperor went missing overnight. Not sick, perfectly healthy but just went missing. I could not spot any bristleworm or any pest, but i spotted one crab before, hiding deep inside the LRs. Nvr see the crab again too.

Haiz, i do not have a Q tank now, and what i can do is to to put new fish in pail with airstone. So sad..... a big tank with just a fish for CNY.....

Slowly bro,it happen to me a few times.Sometimes one breakout can wipe out 50% of the fishes.Worse part if it's our fav or expensive fishes.Now I quarantine new fish for 1-2 week before releasing into the main tank.It do help but of cos most of us just can't wait to view new purchase in the main tank.

right now, my regal is so lonely in the big tank. Thinking of getting one or 2 more and just keep in the pail for 1 week to monitor. Is it good enough?

Bro even if your regal look ok it's good to practice quarantine for new fishes.

I think your main tank have disease, you may need to leave it fishless for more than 4 weeks. It will be useless if you add the quarantined fish during this 4 weeks. Are you intend to keep corals?

If u want to add new fishes and kill disease at the same time, then you can add either copper for ich or Prazipro for flukes.

But you need to remove copper later if u go reef.

Thanks for helping me keep this thread alive. Lately CNY coming, therefore quite busy. No time to visit farm but paid a visit to fish channel as well as ML. Got gd advices from both Kellvin and Henry. Got polylab from ML and also one emperor and one 6 bar. Both are Quarantined inside pails for 3 days, observed to be eating before releasing in DT.

Meanwhile to treat the flukes before, i used Prazi... my regal recovered. Found it to be always hungry though.

Im not using copper but just prazi last week, performed 10% W.C weekly.

So far, so good for all the 3 fish. Need to monitor if all is well after CNY, then can consider adding more LS.

Oh, tests shown NO2 and NO3 - close to 0.. PH abt 8. Temp currently, 29.6, S.G 1.019.

Funny thing my regal and emperor keep swimming together... haha, at least making the tank more lively.

Nice, maybe can run no3 removal media such as bio pellet to improve the no3. PH is a bit low. Try to increase the PH.

currently my grey gotton white moulds on the fins and tail after newly intro into tank after 4 days.

All LS still feeding hungrily.

W.C maintain at 10% every 1.5 wks.

Equipments only Tunze DOC 9006 skimmer and aquazonic 9w UV.

Had neglected my W.C last month due to my BB's delivery and I believe my water parameters went bad.

Looking at doing up an acrylic ATS box now to place on the tanktop. Hopefully my grey improve.

Just did w.c 3 days ago and dose cupramine. Will be having w.c again on Sat.

Bro u dosing cupramine for? Lympho or cotton mouth/fin will go away with good water quality. Plus just a reminder if u do water change, new water must hv the same copper level as ur tank. If not dose cupramine like no use.

Thanks for yr kind encouragements. Yup, tried to rescape but xiong.. haha.. 27in depth... back breaking... and i scare by creating too much caves, will create dead spots for the current.

More caves aka more holes aka more gaps will have better current flow instead of creating dead spot..u can scape 2 islands 1 big n 1 small which is quite common among reefers tanks..

Haha sorry. Mistake wif uploading. Just got 4 butterflies from TFC. So far, start eat eating greedily the next hour.. did a rescape n reposition of wavemakers to minimise my aggressive angels. Haha.
