Cleaner Shrimp w eggs

think i juz saw 1 of my CS with eggs ... anyone knows what i can do ?? i read that it's almost impossible to breed them rite ??

anyone can comment on it ....

For breeding, you could try put them in a tank of their own, if not, lets the eggs become fish food. source of vitamin.

but it's ahrd to breed the shrimp and i don't have the resources for the process .... guess will have to leave them as fish food ....

the last time we saw our office cleaner shrimps with eggs, it only stayed there for a few days (<3). and after that it was prob deposited somewhere and feasted by our clown and damsel.

The hold the eggs till the larvae hatch and then let them swim off.

Let them out. Usually it is at night and if u r lucky you may see some tiny little jerky things. Almost transparent.

The new born shrimps are transparent with a very thin line of red on their body, at least mine do exhibut the red line. Born "live" into the water column and well loved, foodwise, by fishes. Spawning period tend to be slightly after lights off. If you happen to see your normally "hiding" fishes swimming around frantically after lights off, and it is near spawning time, it is likely that your shrimp just released the babies. My estimate of 400 shrimplets (simply cannot remember the term for baby shrimps at the moment) is eaten by four 2inch regal tangs in 5-10 minutes!!!

The prawn in the pic is still in the early stages of pregnancy. Towards birth, the eggs will spread over the entire lower body and looks in danger of "overflowing". For raising the young, do a internet search. Plenty of good info there, and yes it is possible to do that in tropical singapore.

Here is a pic I took, pictures blurred cos everything happened too fast and could not convince my tangs to stop and smile. Camera not enough optical zoom

Tangs are 2inches at photo taking, the shrimp is not mommy but is actually showing its cannibalistic side. The white "lines" are newly hatched skunk cleaners. Hope this gives you a rough idea on the size of the newly hatched shrimps.
