green algae as in green coraline algae? My purple coraline growth is quite satisfying with 50%. Just find it puzzling reading abt controversy the red spectrum. Since in real reef, red is filtered out, But yet the light makers of led r adding red n yet red grows algae which reefers Dun wan. it's only for nice coral colors. Mh has red spectrum. So led red spectrum too strong..?

No..It's green hair algae, brown algae n cyno. If I'm not wrong, the red in MH spectrum is less than 20% only so too much of red will definitely causes algae bloom.

red spectrum info. Simply subjective. www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2182590&page=2

Advanced aqua say red slows growth. But guy In thread says otherwise. It seem like some Part Of bloated sps is shedding, Exposing the skeleton.

Hopefully radion dun come out with pro2 taking away the reds n replace with more blue.

Hopefully the upgrade kit from xr30w to pro won't cost too much.

Price for XR30w is currently US599 and PRO is US949 in US so the different is US350. I guess the upgrade won't be cheap...sigh!

Wow! I did a very rough calculation and the price different is about sgd $600..

Do u think it will cause a unbalance if I buy a pro to use with old xr30 since i will have to add in 1 more when I upgrade my tank

It will.

in usa they have a sep scheme. Option 1 is u give back your set n get a pro n pay the upgrade price. Option 2 is u send in yr set n give them upgrade the lights n later return to u. I think sg distributor will support this.
