artificial live rock

I intend to start a FOWLR with a 2ft tank

Using sand but putting in artificial live rock

My question is there any pros & cons in long term period?

Btw am using a quick start filter system bought from jireh marine

Quick start system has skimming problem as the wood bubble maker tender to worn off very quickly especially if you overload your bio.....articifical rocks does not have any impact on fish only tank.....

Actually water & live rock has been running by my bro

Since he's upgrading to bigger tank so the existing tank

Will be transfered to me hence using everything back except

its a skimmer. I would recommend you to use deltec mce300. A second hand cost u ard 100 - 150. The startup system would not work well if u study the specification

Think not much difference if u keep FOWLR using either live rock or articfical rock.

Artifical rock : Nice color and shape, green n hairy algae or wild plants will not grow. Will need more time to mature it to have bacterias. Last, you will need at least need a certain of live rocks in your filteration to keep the ph stable.

Live rock : Good natural source of rock. Alot of pest will be in it unless u use dried rocks or live rock from reefers. Once po4 high, algae and wild plants will poping out fast.
