SRC Member Firestarter Posted October 25, 2012 SRC Member Share Posted October 25, 2012 Anyone using the Beamswork 200? http://freshnmarine....roducts_id=3726 Supports 30x10000K daylight, 3xactinic 460nm I have a question about this lightset, since it has 30 white bulbs and only 3 actinic, won't it still give the yellowish tinge? Is this lightset catering more to freshwater than marine tanks? My tank dimensions are 12"x7"x9". Will it be too bright for my tank? Gouldian
IMHO, its a 0.06w LED light set thus shouldn't be overkill for your tank size. But do agree that if it can have a few violets or royal blue will be more ideal. Quote "Reefs, like forests, will only be protected in long term if they are appreciated" Dr. J.E.N. SRC Member Firestarter Posted October 25, 2012 Author SRC Member Share Posted October 25, 2012 So it is not ideal for marine use? Is there guide to the ratio of white/blue bulbs ideal for marine tanks? Gouldian
The colors of corals will looks better if supplement with a balance amount of blue, royal blue and violet. If just with the 10k LED, reddish corals will look brown etc. Same theory as we use MH, we need to supplement with T5s of different colors. Hope that helps. Seems ok but I think it has a little hint of yellowish tinge. Definitely better than my PL. Gouldian
Just bought the AquaZonic Double Bright G2.... Seems ok but I think it has a little hint of yellowish tinge. Definitely better than my PL. Hmmm, between Aquasonic G2 and Beamworks,I prefer the beamworks as I never like lights on clamps. Nevertheless glad you made you choice over PL. SRC Member inwear Posted November 30, 2012 SRC Member Share Posted November 30, 2012 The double ones are on your right upper shelves from thread front shop. The lift side are the normal ones. Ask the lady. Boss Mrs Toh if not sure
SRC Member Firestarter Posted November 30, 2012 Author SRC Member Share Posted November 30, 2012 After looking at the Beamswork 200 in action, I find that there is no point in getting the normal powered ones. Get at least double powered. But its only available for 45cm and above.
