Hi all, i have a 2 ft mix tank thats been running for a year now using a eheim canister... I decided to ditch the canister and setup a sump to increase water volume and also a space for a proper skimmer. The problem is my tank is just a normal tank without an overflow, and i dun have space at back if the tank to add a overflow box. Ok, can i just siphon the water directly off the dt to the sump tank below and have a pump to pump the water back to the qt? I intend to place the siphon hose just near the surface of the water in case anything happen it will just stop siphoning and prevent a flood. Will it work?? Please advice... Thanks

A proper pvc pipe overflow would be a good option. Since yours is a 2 feet tank, a small diameter pvc pipe overflow should be sufficient. As mentioned, you are now using canister, the small space behind your tank for the canister hoses should be able to accommodate the pve pipes for the overflow.
