Can dead rock b"com live

Hi...I hav 2 dead rocks amongst the many live rocks in my tank now for abt 5 months. So will these 2 ever b'com live? Thanks

Previously from my fresh water tank, 2 large pieces, abt 6 to 7 kg each, i notice they look more reddish brown and my turbo snail is on it quite often. Thanks for the advise though.

Most rocks used in FW are non porous, except lava rock. So its ill not have much bacteria colonizing it and is as good as not putting any rocks. It might be aesthetically pleasing but would be of no use to biological filtration. From your description of the rocks, I do not think they would be able to turn live. Maybe you could post a pic which will aid me in confirming my answer.
