anyone tries picking up snails at east coast beach to put in their tan

Not worth doing it and polluting your tank since turbo snails cost only $1.

Also, the snails on the beach are of different species and it likes to surface out of the water. I know because I caught them before and they kept climbing out of my tank... not advisable for aquariums.

Me too..They get out of tank. they are tidal creatures.

the only snails found on our shores that are suitable for tanks are cowries,some limpets....the best one is Nerita polita

not only they stay under water, doesn't knock off rocks like turban snails, pretty shells(probably no 2 shells are the same), easy to collect, its free and abundant.

Bro were u get urs dude? Wonder if they sell blue leg hermits at $1 too... I've visit 2 places where i got my stocks on, Each at $2.. 5 $10 already... with $1 for 1, i can get 10...

i think those $1 snail are Trochus, not Turbo

they will spawn if your tank does not have natural predator
