Nano reef filtration

Hi guys, I'm looking to purchase a 10g nano tank . was just wondering... Beside the live rock and live sand.. What filtration type do you guys recommend? Will a HOB filter be sufficient? An IOS? where to get them? Thx:)

You can try to look around for ready make nano tank like the IQ5 ? Hang over filter will look a little bit ugly that's what I feel.

IQ5 is way too small and the tank is acrylic . how about the oceanfree nano space? 34L any thoughts?

U can use those internal filters.. Dymax EZ Filter... If u happen to go to Madpetz, look at his small nano tank...

well, ok i have a 5 gallon tank, and i use a sponge and filter foam. every few weeks when i doing water change i'll squeeze the sponge in the aquarium water i change out to get rid of some detritus.

That's all, you could also consider using carbon, but i personally don't.

oh ya, and i recommend HOB because IOS takes up space in an already smallish tank. but well, might have more space for filtration media, but i think its best to leave that to high quality porous rock.

Hi, I'm also keen to start out with a small size nano, looking at iq5 or ocean free nano space or boyu 32L mini, not sure which is recommended, anyone can advise..

I am using a Tunze 9002 for my 1 by 1 feet nano, but took it out after a while as it takes up too much space.

By the way, I also added bacteria king in one of the chambers at the back of my tank. I got my ibox nano from AM. Water change is important since or such small tank, you dont really require a skimmer...

Nano Tank is actually very hard to maintain as a single change in water parameter will cause drastic changes due to small amount of water. Nano is actually meant for experience reefer. I myself gave up Nano and change into a bigger tank. Maybe u guys can read up more on the internet to gain some knowledge. SRC eventually help me out alot, dont be shy on asking QNS.

For a 10g nano I recommend the ocean space 34l. Dymax iq 5 is way too small. the back compartments are really neat and organised and you're able to fit a IQ protein skimmer behind. They're selling it for 100 at irwana. Gd luck

You may want to go to Seaview, due to the renovations, they are having 10% to 15% off....

For a Nano tank, I use a HL-501 or even a HL-701. I cannot remember the brand but this is a black one with a surface skimmer
