i want to keep only anthias and some small gobys...

so i guess i should get them to start eating first before adding other fish right?

will adding a pair of firegobies stress them?

haha think i'm paranoid!

Gobies wun stress them. I am keeping 2...been with me for 2 weeks already. I started mine on baby brine shrimp...they go crazy over it. After a while you can start weaning them onto cyclops. Now one of them takes mysis...yay!

Always something more important than fish.

ahhh....

ok then i won't add any fish that will compete with them for food... :P

but did yours eat mysis from the start or did you have to slowly change form brine shrimp or other food?

thanks bro...

Purple Queen Anthias do not last long as they are extremely fussy fish and require constant feeding.

Most experts agree its impossible to keep long term.

They usually starve to death in a few weeks.

You can try but you have to dedicate a tank with pristine water condition even after feeding lots of live food continuously.

Best food to feed is live BBS but they need to be enriched before feeding or the PQ anthia will lose weight even if its eating and then.... -_-

Don't recommend newbies to try purple queens.

Keeping PQ anthias alive fo a few weeks or a month and half is NOT success.

Freshly hatched BBS is full of protein and should be fed immediately.

After you keep them for a couple of days... you have to feed them with Selcon or live phytoplankton after they have developed their feeding apparatus before you feed the BBS to your anthias.

oh so its just the same rule as like feeding baby guppies...

BBS have to be fed within 24 of hatching...

i thought ment using frozen BBS...

oh thanks... will try hatching BBS again... :thanks:
