Salifert Cal test kit

Hi....

I just bought this test kits and tried a test on my water.

According to the instruction ...initially pink-red colour as u drip the CA3 solution and slowly it will turn to clear blue.

But mine didnt change colour after dripping of 1ml of CA3 solution

The test is still stay in pink-red colour.

Hope anyone can help me.

Tat means ur calcium is off the scale.

not necessory, I have a similar exp with my salifert testkit too...it could be a faulty kit....I think best borrow another test kit to retest again..before you do anything

draw another full syringe and measure as usual but add 500ppm to yr reading.

Just a reminder: Add with the 5ml syringe 3ml.

If you followed everything, then your Ca is above 500 ppm

Salifert test kits has a self life. But mostly more than 1 year unless the one you bought is a very old stock.

I bought this test kits that have an expired date - 2008

I also had followed everything according to the instruction given...

suspect my cal level is over 500ppm.

Anyway....thks for all bros response..and I will test it again tomorrow to see how is the result.

what do you mean by 3ml???

Is the measurement still right if it is 3ml???

deepblue, it supposed to be 3ml of tank water as per the instruction sheet

Do the half dose method wih 1.5ml then times out the final number by two. Your calcium could be 500++ thats why not reflected.

maybe u can loan 1 ca kit from another reefer nearby u or u do thest on another reefer 's tank with ur ca kit....

read and tested again....my C*** eye....change to 3ml....my tank Ca level slightly below 500, ard 480 ...must be the reef builder and kalk reactor
