External Pump + Canister + Chiller setup?

Hi,

I'm new to this marine tank and wondering how is the setup for canister & chiller? do you need an external pump for return to tank? I'm using a nano 28G tank so do I need an additional sump for better efficency ?

if you're sump-less. you can go from tank > canister inlet > canister outlet > chiller inlet > chiller outlet > main tank

If your canister filter is strong enough it would be powerful enough to push the water out, look at the specs of your filter online (model numer etc) then compare it to the recommended flow rate of your chiller, if its not powerful enough then you might have to invest in an external one
