i was told by some reefer~~`

bottom cover with 30kg of grade 5, cover by 30 kg of grade 0 which is use as the top sandbed

another one old Lfs tell me that by using grade 0 on top..will trap bubbles in the sand~~` and in the long run it will be hard to maintain as the 0 sand will stick together

very confuse leh....which one to use kekeke

The effectiveness of DSB do not simply lie in the depth of it, but also the surface area for it to work on.

If your objective for the DSB is for denitrification purposes, you can also consider doing regular water change for nutrient export (NO3 included) instead since your water volume is relatively small.

DSB in a 2ft cube take up valuable estate, not as eye pleasing, and may hide Hydrogen Sulphide pockets if not managed by sufficient sand fauna.

what do you mean by

"and may hide Hydrogen Sulphide pockets if not managed by sufficient sand fauna."

can i said again that most of the reefer use grade 0 or 1 on the top for the so call fine white grain sand effect instead of considering using

grade 3 which tend to lose out in viewing purpose
