Here's a little piece of tranquility on my desk.

post-3628-13472953712197_thumb.jpg

1. My coffee.

2. My terrarium.

3. My little Lego dog. (It only sits there staring at me the whole day).

4. And my 13L IQ5.

Cycling for the last 2 weeks with a pc of liverock (1kg), salt mix, biohome, and 15 drops of micro bacter per day.

I'm trying to keep things as simple as possible. I don't want my bosses to think that I have too much time on my hands. Lol.

Anyway, I'm just a salesman in my company. It helped that I topped the numbers for the 2 months running, and thus I found the perfect timing to add this water column on my desk. I can always say that this water element has been the source of my current success. Ha. Ha. Ha.

For the last 2 weeks, I've been getting so many curious questions about this container of water and a queer piece of stone.

Many have also pestered me to quickly add some life to the water. They're getting real bored already. Haha.

My plan is a 10% wc every week / or bi-weekly if required, for nutrient export and replenishment of elements.

I'll just bring a 1.5L-bottle of salt mix from home for the wc.

No skimmers, nor other equipment.

Thinking if I should do a conventional nano fish w softies & LPS, or should I do a radical species tank.

Lionfish? Box fish? Seahorses / pipefish? Frogfish?

Any suggestion?

i would avoid these species since it is rather dedicated in it's diets unless you can have a refugium to grow pods for them to feed with.

For a nano tank size like this , i think we can only limit to small nano fishes and invert. i.e; sexy shrimp, goby ect..

Hey bro that tank looks very familiar!!

Hope you like it and good luck for your office tank!

Do take note of the evapouration of the tank. When there is not enough water, the last compartment where your pump is will be in danger of overheating.

2 Feet Tank: (Decom Feb 2015)
-Lightings : Pharos LED light 90W with wireless controller
-Chiller : Arctica 1/10HP with H2Ocean Flow Pump 2000

-Wavemaker : Vortech MP10ES
-Skimmer : Bubble Magus NAC 3.5

-Return Pump : Eheim Compact 3000
-Reactor – TLF150 (Mod) with NP Biopellet
-Reactor – TLF150 with Rowaphos

Yup. This tank used to be at Buangkok area. Haha.

Anyway, I bought the cover for this tank. I only need to top up around 10-20ml every other day. Evaporation is manageable.

I'm now seriously considering lionfish setup. Heehee.

Thanks bro. Will be forgoing the idea of cutesy little reef. Going for radical species that I can't keep in my tank at home.

Think I've disappointed many of my colleagues with this decision. Haha.

Crouching Puffer, Hidden Specimen.

Lol, my puffer sticks to the rock almost 100% of the time since this morning.

Even food does not entices it to move.

Yesterday after I let it in the tank, it still swam around, pecking the lr and the mysis that I fed.

Today it just stuck to the rock, only the darting eyes and breathing shows it is still alive.

Well it did change positions every now and then. But basically it just stayed still.

Is it dying?

suffering from shock/shyness after seeing your account manager?

if it is dying, it should initially show signs of rapid breathing followed by slow breathing which ends with no breathing. it also may be either not moving around or moving with sudden jerking actions with hints of flipping.

Thanks. Will go take a look if possible tmr.

Yup she did come by twice to take a look and passed some lame remarks. Me thinks the puffer may have been spooked. Lol.

On a serious note, quite rapid breathing is observed, but I do not know if the rate is rapid or normal. Same rate for 10 hrs.

It's still moving gracefully though, during the few times it moved.

Well I'll continue monitoring.

Thanks.
