Tank Size: 4ft(L) x 1.5ft(W) x 2ft(H)...

Tentative Equipments...

Skimmer: MR-1 with Iwaki Pump from MyReefCreation.com

WaveMaker: 2 x Tunze 6060

Lighting: 3 x 54w T5 Sun-Pro, 3 x 54w T5 Aqua-blue and 1 x 54w T5 Actinic

Cooling System: 2 x DIY Fans

Refugium: I-Ref

All Comments and Advise are welcomed... No matter good or bad...

With the amount of T5s you are using, you settle for MH will be a wiser choice...one 54W tube is between 50-60 bucks...7 tubes would be 350-420 bucks. You can easily D.I.Y 2X250W SE MH with that price if im not wrong......

Then again..an issue might be the heat released by the MH...however...7 T5s are'nt exactly as cool as you think..the heat generated can equal that of a MH.

Always something more important than fish.

I was thinking of DIY-ing 2 x 250w MH before... But thinking of the heat it gives off it really put me off... Den somemore chiller need 1/2 HP and the price is abt $1000 plus... So I think settle for T5s and fans...

ya lor those chiller selling outside selling dam ex..

i check with my uncle who is dealing with air-con told me 1hp condenser only cost 2-300 only. dam cheap...

luckily for me.. lolz can save a sum going to ask him do a 1hp or 1.25 hp chiller for me..

How high must the streams from the sand bed to prevent a sand storm... I am thinking of using a timer to control the streams... Will it wear out the streams faster...

had that idea a while back...exp reefers advised against it as it will damage the propeller inside

putting it near mid-tank will create sandstorm liaoz.....better place it higher :lol::lol:
