I just purchased this chiller for my tank with a external temperature probe. Super effective and quiet. I set the temperature to kick in @ 28deg and kick out at 26deg. The water gets chilled in 32minutes and takes 4 to 5 hours to kick in again.

The noise is low, I placed it in the living room where by parents will watch tv and what not. No one is complaining about the noise.
