Reef-safe Triggerfishes?

Hi all. Care to share any of your experiences with this majestic species of fish?

I believe the most commonly kept "reef safe" is the Blue Throat Trigger (Xanthichthys auromarginatus).

i guess it really depends on the temperament of the individual fish..

i have a niger trigger in my 150gal who is quite docile.. nvr disturb any LS..

I have five triggers in my tank (clown/blue lined/Picasso/ Niger/ undulate).

Mostly sponges/ softies and a few fungia/ gronio etc.

None have ever touched my coral.

Only exception was a clam which the clown tried a bite but ignored it after that...

So yes it's all dependent on temperament but just keep them well fed.

Don't think so, CT are one of the more aggressive specie, they will sample of anything in the tank even wave-maker cover and wires when they gets bored. - http://www.inthetank.co.uk/fish-2/triggerfish/clown-triggerfish/

Nope, from what I experience they grow quite fast a minumun 3ft..

I cant change your mind set if you still thunks that is okay to put a clown trigger with other small fish and in a small tank where there is not enough space. You will be left with a trigger in your tank..

Niger Trigger... I have one... doesnt disturb my Cleaner shrimp at all...
