SRC Member stevenchia Posted August 24, 2012 SRC Member Share Posted August 24, 2012 Use a filter or dust collector. Change frequently to avoid clogs. This will keep ur chiller away from dust and animal fur. Once it got into the fins inside, no way u can get it out. I got from dasio and been using for a long time. 1 Quote Tank Theme: Mixed Reef with clams 3 feet tank with IOS Eheim 1262 K3 wavemaker x1 Lightings: T5 actinic blue x4 , T5 white x4 Skimmer: BMQQ Artica 1/5 Dosing: NA ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reefing is sharing. SRC Member JeffL Posted August 25, 2012 SRC Member Share Posted August 25, 2012 will this reduce or make the fan work harder to draw in cool air? Jameshong
will this reduce or make the fan work harder to draw in cool air? It will if the filter is dirty and choke the air intake..so make sure change the filter once it's dirty. Quote Knowing is not enough; we must apply. bluemask
will this reduce or make the fan work harder to draw in cool air? Without the filter, dust will enter & clogged up the condenser coil/fins. Hence, cooling efficiency will be greatly affected & result in more power consumption. So do change the filter on a regular basis & if not, your chiller will end up consuming more power instead of more efficient.
SRC Member JeffL Posted August 27, 2012 SRC Member Share Posted August 27, 2012 just got one packet from Daiso! as mentioned, have to change once it is filled with dirt to prevent chiller or air con over work Quote 2 Feet Tank: (Decom Feb 2015)-Lightings : Pharos LED light 90W with wireless controller-Chiller : Arctica 1/10HP with H2Ocean Flow Pump 2000-Wavemaker : Vortech MP10ES -Skimmer : Bubble Magus NAC 3.5-Return Pump : Eheim Compact 3000-Reactor – TLF150 (Mod) with NP Biopellet-Reactor – TLF150 with Rowaphos

SRC Member stevenchia Posted June 23, 2013 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 23, 2013 Looks like the pollution actually cause more particle trap onto filter. Imagine the air u breathe in. The chiller is a form of filtering system for your home i guess.
