4 Feet or Less PVC Frame?

hey guys...diying the perspex and pvc pipes structure to hold rocks and wondering if those who have experience in this area, can advise on...

for a four feet tank,

1) should I go for the full length or 3 feet below?

2) For the respective length, how many vertical supports do I need?

3) what would be an ideal difference between the distance of each

T-joint?

Admitted I gadget-illterate but I am not doing complicate stuff here...

Just want something to withstand weight of the rocks so asking THOSE who have done it for opinions before I venture...you got somehting to bite about?

PVC lo.. if wan.. use those of a bigger size.. more than 30mm types?

I don't think the diameter of the pipes is an issue. you just have to pvc glue them together.

Am I kiasu if I suggest using cable ties then glue that portion with silicon gel for double strength?

You mean the part of the fitting and pipe or the part where the egg crates on the pipe? Either one, theres really no need to use silicon glue. PVC glue is strong enough for the pipes and fittings.

do not use cable ties.very lousy IMO.i'm using that now.Elbows and T's are good.Just that have to use many...not in my case as everything is temporary.Best to do a pvc rack $$$

actually if you whack it hard enough .. there is no need to glue it. It will give you a strong joint but its not leak proof

I'm thinking more of the connection between the egg crate and the pipes structure....

joints are sturdy enough as i have experienced but how about gluing the eggcrates and the pipes together?

and I'm also thinking about drilling holes into the pipes for circulation purposes...
