Hi..I'm having problems with this red hair like and slimy algae...please help!!

I do 1/3 water change every 2 weeks...light feeding...evrytime i remove..few days later come back again...skimmer also running full blast..

Are you using RO/DI for your salt mix during water change? Did you check your p04 and N03 level ?

Try to find the root cause of your problem so that you can solve it.

Use a reliable test kit for the -O4 and N03 test.

Thanks for the feedback...tested NO3 using Tetra Test..reading showing about 30mg/l....po4 havnt check...

Heard Salifert is most accurate..but they're ex...has anybody done any comparisons between the different brands?...

How's yr flow in the tank? Low flow will have cyano coupled by high nutrients.

Is yr skimmer collecting any gunk?

Normally u vac the cyano but if remain a little, it will grow back very fast.

If u don't have much corals, u can try ultra life red slime remover.

If u search thru forum, I remember someone putting human antibiotics med into water n next day it's gone.

But these methods is considered harsh as u r not finding the main cause.
