Some RPE zoas not opening.

Some of my RPE zoas not opening whereas part of colony still doing very well. Wanna ask the experts here what could be the cause of it, any way to help it?

Try to look out for nudibranch feeding on your zoas . Might also due to zoas in the process of mutliplying which will goes into closing mode for a few days & then you'll noticed tiny news zoas popping up

It has been for weeks that the zoas are closed but didn't see any nudis. I try to monitor closely again. Thanks.

Can try dipping in coral rx.

Not yet but can try. Was given this suggestion by another senior reefer.

can try flushing with tap water for 1 minute.

also add iodine, sometimes iodine depletion can cause zoas to close

Update on my RPE,

Most have open up but still some polyps not opening.

if no coral RX, can always use normal iodine, this helps by eliminate any parasites or infected zoas.

using the main tank water and a few iodine, dip for around 8 mins.

Does the skirt seems like it's being eaten up? From your pic the skirts seemed shorter than first pic.

If it is, it is most likely a pest. Could be nudis, crabs or worms.

Would suggest a dip, either RX or freshwater flush.

If possible, try using a torchlight to monitor at night and you might catch the culprit.
