Reefing chemistry class - Ca & Kh relationship

My elder brother is into planted tank. Once he told me an old guru told him if u want your tank to look nice, you don't take care of the plants but u take care of the water.

All the oldbirds stresses on importance of Kh.

I'm using dosing system, previously ESV brand, now is fauna Marin. both sort of 2 part additives. I find tat the ratio is not 1:1 but I can't find the reason Why till I read this info which clear my doubt. Not sure if u have read before this.
