my liferocks..they turned black today..so smelly..really like crap..

this happened..because i took it out of my room to a place with no pump and partial light..they turned black..

and when i changed my water..every organism died..the entire liferock is black..

is it dead? i suppose so..but if i were to recycle..roughly how long more will it take? its current status is uncured right?(after "death")

thanks in advance..and sorry for the skimpy format..

:thanks:

In future, treat all LR as living organisms... because they carry lots of life on them.

They should not be left out of saltwater too long and be deprived of good water circulation because the living creatures that colonise liverock need oxygen too.

You have effectively 'killed' your liverock.... or to precise... you killed the bacteria and living organisms on the rock.

You can either throw it away... what a waste.... or you can cure it seperately and then once cured, to put it back in your main tank to be recolonised.
