I need a Crabuster..

Recommended Posts

really tired of re-stacking LR every morning...

spotted a few crabs (5 cent coin size) here and there...

manual catching is not really effective.

crab trap yields nothing...

so is there any biological weapons against crabs?

some crab eater?

where got sell or loan?

Is your tank still empty and cycling? or it has finished cycling but still no other LS?

If it has finished cycling but with no other LS, get a trigger and it will finish off the Crabs. Either a trigger or Octopus...

But both needs to be taken out once u r going to intro other LS. IMHO.

Octopus aren't very long lived. You can leave them in the tank to die or wait for them to crawl out and commit suicide. Then you can have takopacchi.

Hey Guys !

Why not consider to use a Crab Trap....the success rate is almost 100%..I caught 6 crabs in 3 nights (using just one or two "Essense of Chicken" bottles)

1. If your tank has many crabs, then use four to five "Essense of Chicken" bottles. Tie two rubber bands around the opening of the bottle (looks like a CROSS) ...to reduce the openning space by 75%. This is to prevent shrimps from taking your Prawn bait.

2. Put a small tiny piece of prawn bait inside the bottle. Place the openning of the bottle RESTING on the LR...where crabs normally hang-out.

3. Place your trap only just before your room lights are totally switch-off (NIGHT TIME). Then in the morning, just collect your TROPHY (crabs!!!! trap inside the bottle).

B) Some reefers who tried my modified method, works very well...no harm trying lah....Cheers!

Happy CNY !!!

Ha! Caught you achillies! :evil::evil:

But if you tame me, we shall need each other.

To me, you will be unique in all the world.

To you, I shall be unique in all the world...

You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.

Hey Bro !

One very impt step I forgot to highlight on Crab Trap.....you must place your bottle at around 30~40 deg angle.....too little angle, the crab can crawl out. Too steep an angle, crabs may be cautious and do not go near the openning of the bottle.

Happy trying....I am quite sure it works very well ! Happy crabbing !!!

Cheers ! Golf

I am new in this hobby. What's wrong with the crabs? I saw few in my tank. Thanks for sharing.

dunnoe if they are the culprit,

but my LR tumbles at night. and i have to re stack them in the morning...

my feather duster will lose its feather every few evenings and some times kena moved from the LR...

and my snails kept dying last time...
