The Birth of Weedy Seadragon

The female weedy seadargon (Phyllopteryx taeniolatus) laid close to 100 eggs in June 2012, depositing them on the spongy underside of the male's tail; As with seahorses, the males carry the eggs to term.  This week, the first eggs began to hatch!
