it is so clever of you to do the modification. Now that you have so much light packed in the hood.... i sense you may be venturing into SPS full steam.

One question: is the size of a DE 250 watt ballast and tube different frm a DE 150 watt? Thought of doing the same modification for my hood if i can still house the ballast within.

250watt for a 30 gallon! Who can imagine?

the ballast size is about the same....but the 250watt is much heavier...as for the bulbs, it abit longer than the 150watt.

if u can house the 150watt, u can definately house the 250watt....
