Jorden
Hi guys, I'm rather new here, am going to set up a 2 feet tank (fowlr) and i have a few question in mind. 1st, if i purchase saltwater from those seller (Pinnacle), and i cycle them, what do i have to add in to the water? or i just let the water run for days before buying any live stock? 2nd, any recommendation on solution that is good to have/buy? fishyfishyfishy
If its saltwater, IMO i cycle for 3 days with live rocks inside, you may wish to dose bacteria to speed up the process. Since its a fowlr, i do not really think you need specifically any supplements. Just regular water changes should suffice.
SRC Member iskay Posted July 3, 2012 SRC Member Share Posted July 3, 2012 Cycling takes at least 4 weeks. Please read our articles for starting a tank properly to avoid costly mistakes. RushAct
you need to buy Test Kits =)
Jasondonovan
Cycling takes 4-6 weeks and if you want to buy some market prawns and add it to the sand bed for beneficial bacteria. use test kits to check for ammonia, nitrites, nitrates. Once cycling is complete, you can add livestock one at a time with intervals of 1 week or so in between. This is what i did following the write ups in this forum and i have found it very useful and it works for me.
