I tried two ways on my new clams.

1. Soak the clam in fresh water for a few minutes.

2. Just use a pen knife to scrape it off.

Frankly, I prefer the pen knife method. Do exercise caution! ^_^

Isn't that easy to remove?

I take my clam to the sink, use a brush and brush the shell until the apitasia break into a thousand pieces and wash under running water. To confirm its totally gone, i put some pH buffer on the spot where the apitasia used to be for a minute and then wash in running water again. ... kee..kee..
