This dimension thing is eating me too.

1. Distance from TOP to BOTTOM.

This is the easy one. HEIGHT.

2. Distance from LEFT to RIGHT.

Most aquarists call this the LENGTH.

But in technical terms, it really should be the WIDTH. Because looking at the tank from the front, it really is how wide from left to right!

3. Distance from FRONT to BACK.

Most aquarists call this the BREADTH / WIDTH.

But in technical terms, it really should be the DEPTH, because it is how far you have to reach to get to the back. It is also the 3rd dimension. Most technical/construction guys will call it depth too.

I don't mean to rock the boat.

This is just getting it out of my system.

For years aquarists have been calling it by L x B x H. So we'll keep it this way.

Cheers.

I thought that

LENGTH = How long is the tank

Breadth/With = Side

Depth = How deep is the tank = Height..

So complicating.. Secondary School Teach me wrongly? Sorry, im only maxed till ITE...

BTW is there any pros n cons between a sump and a ios?

Bro, lbh was made up by engineers, not aquarists, haha. Should I get a 3ft as a sump for my 2ft?

wah.. serious. is very heavy leh. can tehan?

I used to put on a table but the wood started to give way.

I have an iron-rod stand. Was custom-made at Yishun Blk 716 at $130 (transport $20) 4 months ago.

I sprayed 2 coats of anti-rust white paint to prevent it from rusting.

The dimension is 3ft x 1.6ft x 2.5ft (length x width x height).

Now using it for my flower pots. :)

If you want i can let go.

As for the power head, Aquatic Tonic SUMO-3 (ampibia) pump 3000L\H (3 months old), reserved as backup pump for my 4ft tank. Still under wanrranty (1 year). Bought it at Clementi Flowery Shop at Clementi Blk 328 at $65. Very powerful, quiet and more importantly very low power comsumption compare to other brands for a 3000 L/H pump.

If you need it let me know too. :)

Happy Quarrantining.... hee hee.
