Test kits what do u use?

Hi All, What sorts of test kits do u guys use for measuring Calcium, Magnesium, Alkainity?

Ive been using solution test but can hardly tell by the color difference.

Anyone care to share what type of test kits u guys have for measuring your water?

I use D-D.. They have a Ca-Mg-KH set..

I use redsea test kits, they seem to be most accurate from my experience- although a little expensive.

How much r they? Ive been using the Tropic Marin Calcium n Magnesium....such a drag telling the color from light blue to colorless

The Ca-Mg-KH, 3 in 1 test kits costs $75.. But after that you can buy the refills for the individual parameters, which should cost around $19 if I'm not wrong..

Are they easy to use? Accurate?

I use marine life CA-MG too leh... seems ok, i think... u really have to dose the correct amount of part B.. place under a white background eg. A4 paper.. and compare lor.. remarkable accurate.. only the hassle of slowly dripping..

Yup! Agree with John.. D-D test kits are pretty accurate.. Only hassle is the slow dripping for the Ca-Mg-KH tests..

Hmmm...seems that my challenge is comparing COLORLESS WATER with COLORLESS LIGHT BLUE. Their color transission is very minimal. Its comparing very light clear blue to clear water. Its not like BLUE TO RED which is clearly visible transsision

its very challenging indeed.. i also find it hard to use when i first time use it.. after awhile, i find iit easier... u have to place it under a white paper and white light.. u have to look from the top n look through the base...
