Overflow box question

What are the pros and cons of using one ?

I would like to use it along with a ADA tank .

Please give some feedbacks/comments on this kind of setup .

air trap in the box may cause the flow to stop and overflow will occurs in the main tank.

I used to use a maxijet to suck air .fm the overflow, so always maintain the siphon.

Connect air intake of maxijet to the overflow box. When I'm bk in sg, let me try to take a pix for u. V efficient.

I've used a CPR overflow with aqualifter pump. Never any problems. The aqualifter keeps any air out so everything starts back up incase of power outage.

Managed to google and understands how and maxijets gonna helps in overflow boxes .

It helps to suck the air out to prevent the breakage of siphon .

Where did u buy the aqualifter from btw ?

That's the general idea, but mine had an air line nipple on top to attach the tube instead up running it up inside like the picture.

Does every overflow box works with a tube? Do u install the pump in the sump to suck away?

No.you dont install the pump in the sump.

If power is cut,the tube will create a siphon and drain the water in the u- tube

till air lock and break the siphon.

The pump need to be in the tank.
