SRC Member MadScientist Posted June 21, 2012 SRC Member Share Posted June 21, 2012 you can add a sponge at the outlet too, helps to make microbubbles into bubbles.

SRC Member kaykay Posted June 21, 2012 SRC Member Share Posted June 21, 2012 you can add a sponge at the outlet too, helps to make microbubbles into bubbles. I tried inserting a pc of filter floss at the outlet, but it wrecked havoc with the water level in the skimmer. I guess you can only just cordon the general surrounding area of the outflow with the sponge to absorb the microbubbles.
SRC Member MadScientist Posted June 21, 2012 SRC Member Share Posted June 21, 2012 kaykay, output should not be restricted. place the sponge along the flow, making sure there's no restrictions
SRC Member starfish123 Posted June 22, 2012 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 22, 2012 today tested my nitrite again, and the results was......zero? my tank only 10 days cycle, but why nitrite drop so fast? or is it because i transfered my previous tank media to my new tank? please advice

SRC Member starfish123 Posted June 25, 2012 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 25, 2012 realised that i forgot to place a piece of glass between the 2nd and 3rd compartment to keep the height of water stable so water level keeps getting lower in the second compartment and skimmer not able to operate well. what should i do? SRC Member MadScientist Posted June 25, 2012 SRC Member Share Posted June 25, 2012 can always epoxy or superglue a piece of acrylic to adjust height. not pretty, but works
SRC Member starfish123 Posted June 26, 2012 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 26, 2012 ok, might try, anyway going to hide the sump with a piece of alcrylic. am just afraid that epoxy and silicone cannot dry underwater
SRC Member starfish123 Posted June 26, 2012 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 26, 2012 my nitrite level has been constant 0 for 5 days already. is there any problem with my cycling or is it because i recycled my previous tank's media?
