Hi,

just purchased a soundtech digital timer (with 2 channels) which comes with no manual from Challenger.

Plugged into the power socket and nothing happens despite pressing all the buttons.

Is this a faulty unit or am I using it wrongly?

Thanks and regards.

Erm... let me try. When you press the Channel buttons (CH 1 or 2), is there a cursor or an arrow that points to either On, Auto or Off (Shown at the bottom of your display)? You need to be in auto mode in order for the switches to follow your programming. If you want to switch it on, shift the arrow till it points to On. If your equipment doesn't work when On is selected, you will need to get it replaced.

I do not have good experience with Soundtech digital timers (I used to have those single plug ones, which doesn't work after some time), so I would advise to change to other items instead.

I think if really can't bring back to shop quickly. My digital timer last time have to depress the reset button plus another button to start off the timer first time.

Well, I have not tried this method. Will give it go tonight and see how...btw, the power for the clock function is dependent on the main power supply? And not cell batt...

Thanks.

ok, tested with both reset and other buttons at the same time. Doesn't work!

99% sure it is a faulty product.

I got a single channel type and encountered 2 occasions of abnormality.

the timer has a internal batt tat needs to be charged up first before the LCD screen will turn on. my first unit after 1 nite charging still nothing on lcd. So go homefix changed. 2nd unit after using sometime the lcd screen data showed garbage wording after 1 wk plus of usage. homefix sent to distributor. reason is the internal batt fail, So they changed new batt. notice my light is not switching on then discovered this fault.

very unreliable. I avoid all soundtech products...

Got the maxxi tronic timer from madpetz. though no backup batt to retain program, So far is good. some timers body too broad n u can't plug into another plug next to it.
