Looks like cyano bacteria. :thumbdown:

Its challenging to treat. Think only 2 options ==> increase flow / increase efforts to reduce nutrients (if its serious enough, the fastest way is to change water as regularly as you can)

The 3rd option is... use chemicals like Chemiclean etc. Think Madpetz selling it.

That will be a last resort to prevent a dreaded crash due to cyano attack.

From my past experience with cyano, it's best to physically remove as much as u can, followed by increase flow n water changes. Even if u wanna use chemical/medication, it's best to remove as much as u can physically. I see a few big pieces together which makes it easy to remove. Juz use a hose n suck them out. U may have to forgo some sand though. :)
